In Magical Delicacy, figuring out the right combinations of ingredients to fulfill customer orders is part of the fun. Each request has a combination of ingredients, flavors, and other requirements you’ll need to meet.
For some of those orders, it’s relatively straightforward. But some can be downright tricky! That’s where we come in with our Magical Delicacy order guide. We’re looking at the combinations of ingredients that worked for us in case you’re stuck on which potion you can give Laurent with the requested Insipid flavor.
We recommend also keeping our Ingredient Guide open for this quest breakdown, so you can easily find the locations for key cooking materials!

Hina’s Order: Get the Stove Running
This order from Hina is the first one you’ll fulfill, and it’s part of the game’s cooking tutorial. As such, it’s pretty straightforward.
Hina wants a stew that isn’t spicy. You’ll get the Stove Pot and Faucet and a Kitchen Modules guide when you receive the request. All you need to do is follow the Mushroom Goulash recipe. That means you’ll need:
- A Mushroom
- A Vegetable
- Something Salty
It’s easy to grab Redroot from near the Bakery for your vegetable at this point in the game. You can also visit Aki in the Central Plaza and buy an Ulport Squash. For the salt, pop in and buy Rocksalt (Salty) from Signe at the Bakery. As for the Mushroom, you’ll see a few varieties nearby that you can easily grab. I used a Timbershade.
Once you have the items, simply put some water in your new Stove Pot, chuck in the ingredients, and you’ve got yourself a stew!
TIP: If you have access to a recipe or have made it before, you should see the recipe name pop up when you’ve added the right ingredients. If it still says Unknown, double-check that you have the required ingredients before you hit cook!
Hina is easy to find to fulfill the request since she’s your new defacto roommate! Just like that, your first order is filled.
Adelaide’s Order: Sweetness for a Princess
You’ll first meet Princess Adelaide in the Central Plaza, where she’ll ask for something sweet. This is a main story quest that will earn you the Bridge Pass. Her request is:
- Dessert
- Sweet
- Include Ground
This one can take a bit of experimenting to make sure you wind up with a dessert but it is otherwise relatively simple. You’ll need to buy a mortar & pestle from Star’s Forge so you can include a ground ingredient. So long as you grind something up and add in enough sweet ingredients, this request isn’t too tough. If you’re stuck, here’s what I made for this one:
- Use the Stove Pot
- Add Wheat flour (grind Braided Wheat from Signe)
- Add Moonberries
This results in a nice and sweet Moonberry Pudding that will fulfill this first request from Adelaide nicely. You can also throw in a little Moonspark Sugar to be extra sure it turns out sweet.
Amara’s Order: Thinking of Others
After you deliver the sweets to Adelaide, her guard Amara will request an order of her own. They’re still at the Central Plaza location, so they’ll be easy to find. For this order, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:
- Baked Goods
- Avoid Sweet
- Use only Common ingredients
This order is a bit more complicated, as you’ll need to ensure you’re using only Common ingredients while also winding up with something that’s considered a Baked Good. Also, keep an eye on the number at the bottom of the order – you’ll need not one but two dishes that meet these requirements.
One easy way to get this going is to make a sandwich! You’ll need to first bake bread in the Oven using the following:
- Flour (Wheat Flour works best since it’s Common)
- Spice (Rocksalt is easiest)
Once you’ve made bread, grab some veggies (Common and not sweet don’t forget!) and a Common Spice (another Rocksalt works well). Then, head to the Cutting Board. Combine them and you should get a nice sandwich you can deliver to Amara. Make sure to craft two to completely fill the order! This is a minor order with no huge story breakthroughs, but you’ll need to complete it to get your next order from the Princess, so it’s still worth prioritizing!
Mortimer’s Order: Seabreeze Picnic
At the Harbor, you’ll find a Gaball named Mortimer who wants to surprise their partner with a picnic. This is one of the most minor sidequest orders, with Beads as the primary reward and no major story developments.
Mortimer wants to have a picnic, so naturally you’re thinking of sandwiches! What could be more perfect for a picnic? For this order, you’ll need to:
- Follow the Vegetable Sandwich Recipe
Create two Vegetable Sandwiches. First, make Bread by combining flour and a spice.
Then, head to the cutting board with the bread, plus a vegetable and a spice. Combine them to create a sandwich, then repeat.
Head back to the Harbor to deliver your sandwiches to Mortimer. Sadly, they’ll inform you that Gaball doesn’t like sandwiches. But on the bright side, you’ll still get paid and get another order to boot!
Laurent’s Order: Refreshments for Planning
You’ll meet the Ryverfarer Laurent near the Grand Elevator in Central Plaza, and he has a series of requests for you. The first is for Stew to keep him going while he plans for the next big excursion. He requests:
- Stew (2)
Stew is a pretty easy recipe to put together, and you’ll be able to combine any number of ingredients to get it. The main thing is to make sure you use the Stove Pot and that you include vegetables and a spice.
You could make the Mushroom Goulash recipe you filled earlier for Hina, or branch out to other combinations. Don’t forget to make two of them to fill this order!
Laurent’s Order: Ryverfarers Provisions
After you fulfill his need for stew, Laurent comes at you with another request – some provisions for the journey! His request is:
- Follow the Provision Pack Recipe
- Avoid Foul
The Provision Pack recipe will fall under the Provisions area of your menu and you should get it automatically when speaking with Laurent. To complete it, you will need:
- Rocksalt
- Crop
- Herb
- Mushroom
You should be relatively safe with most combinations here, so long as you avoid Foul herbs and mushrooms. This will get baked in the oven, and then delivered to Laurent near the elevator.
Hina’s Order: Earning Hina’s Help
Talk to Hina in your shop and she’ll ask for something sweet this time. This quest is a big one because it unlocks the ability to sell recipes from your shop window. This helps you earn an income off of recipes that don’t meet your order’s requirements. To fill this order, you’ll need to make something:
- Sweet
At this point, you should have a few different sweet ingredients in your repertoire. Since Moonberries are pretty common, I used those again at the pot along with Honeyspark to make a Moonberry Pudding again. This order is an opportunity to play around and have fun, though, so I encourage you to get inventive in the kitchen! Once you deliver the order to Hina, you’ll get a tutorial on how to use the new Walkup Window!
Cassia’s Order: Apprentice Assessment
When you find Cassia’s Hut for the first time, she’ll offer to help you learn more about witchcraft – but only if you pass her test first. Cassia’s Apprentice Assessment request includes:
- Avoid Stew
- Include Roasted
- Include Exotic
- Include Crafted
To complete this recipe, you’ll want to avoid using the Stove Pot to ensure you don’t accidentally craft a stew. You’ll also need to roast and craft something as part of your ingredient list.
To roast ingredients, use the Oven and throw in some veggies. I suggest using an Exotic one such as Pearlpeas here to kill two birds with one stone. Crafted items include any component you’ve created, so making something like Bread is a great option here.
Mortimer’s Order: No Sandwich Picnic
Mortimer will reject your sandwiches (but keep them, of course). He will give you the request to avoid baked goods because they upset Gaball stomach. The new request is:
- Avoid Baked Goods
- Include Vegetable
- Spicy
- Avoid Bread
You’ll need to craft two recipes that meet these requirements, which is fairly straightforward so long as you grab plenty of veggies and avoid any grains or flour. I roasted up plenty of vegetables in the oven to fill this order – include onion to get that spicy flavor and you should come out with something good for Mortimer and his husband to enjoy.
Mortimer will wait by the Habor once again for you to deliver these wares.
Shuya’s Order: A Sparking Ember
Shuya is a curious young scientist who you’ll first meet in the area between your shop and the Bakery. She will request that you make a potion so she can study it. You won’t be able to complete this request until you unlock the Cauldron by progressing with Cassia’s questline.
Shuya’s request is:
- Follow the Ember Tincture Recipe
This recipe can be purchased from Cassia in her Hut. You will need a Cauldron and some Moonlight to make it happen, as well as the following ingredients:
- Faecap
- Flower
- Salty
- Roasted
She has no flavor requests for this one, so you should be pretty much good with any flower and any roasted vegetable to fill this request. You’ll need Moonlight and Cauldron to brew this up, then deliver it to Shuya between Flora’s Delicacies and the Bakery.
Laurent’s Order: Backup Potions
Laurent’s third order (still placed near the Grand Elevator) is a tricky one. He’s asking for:
- Potion
- Avoid Nut
- Insipid
The Insipid flavor is one of the weakest flavors in the bunch, and many potions require flavors that will outdo anything Insipid you throw in. I finally nailed this order by making the Spirit Elixir recipe using the following ingredients:
- Spiritseeds (required)
- Mushroom – Lizard’s Cone (Insipid Flavor)
- Gaball Spice or Coast Poppy (Insipid Flavor)
- Ground Semborn Kernal (Insipid Flavor)
You’ll need to make this twice to fill the full order, so remember that you can easily buy more Lizard’s Cone from Tauno.
Aki’s Order: Hostile Climate
After you speak with Aki in the Central Plaza a few times, he will request a little something for his traveling companion. But the llama has difficult tastes, and you’ll need to meet the following:
- Refreshing
- Avoid Spice
- Avoid Mushroom
- Avoid Crop
- Avoid Dessert
Thankfully, you only need to manage this once to fulfill the order. You can easily roast up something Refreshing like Ulport Squash or Greenfinger in the Oven or throw it in the Pot with an Herb (not a spice) to create a simple stew.
Vinita’s Order: Herbs from Sana
You’ll first meet Sana’s sister, Vinita, in the Western Plaza just to the right of the Royal Elevator. She’ll ask for something that uses the herbs her sister sells and meets these requirements:
- Avoid Soup
- Avoid Provision
- Include Herb
- Earthy
This side quest order is fairly straightforward so long as you steer clear of the Pot to avoid accidentally making a soup.
Buy some herbs from Sana – preferably something with a milder flavor, such as Timbermoss. Then, throw in some Earthy ingredients to hit the right flavor. I used a few Timbershades in the oven to craft a roasted mushroom dish.
Cassia’s Order: Meet Cassia at Church
To fulfill Cassia’s second request, you’ll need to craft a Spirit Elixir, and then find her at the church. She will put in the request in her hut, but you’ll need to deliver it to the church for her to accept it. She needs:
- Follow Spirit Elixir Recipe
- Bitter
The Spirit Elixir Recipe can be purchased right from Cassia. You’ll need the following items:
- Spiritseeds
- Mushroom
- Ground Ingredient
You want the flavor to come out Bitter here, so be sure to add in some bitter ingredients. I used Graypit Flour as my ground ingredient for that bitter flavor and threw in some Pine Needles for good measure to get the right combination.
Adelaide’s Order: Healthy Princess
Amara requests this order, but you’ll have to deliver it to Adelaide, who’s run off without her guard. This is one of the trickier recipe orders in the game, simply because there’s so much you need to remember! To deliver this healthy meal to Princess Adelaide, you need to meet these requirements:
- Stew
- Savory
- Use Only Rare
- Include Juiced
To ensure you create a Stew, cook up your recipe on the Stove Pot. You’ll want to include rare vegetables, mushrooms, and herbs to wind up with a stew, and include something juiced as well. Here’s the combination we used:
- Faecap
- Timbermoss (I threw in 2 just to ensure a savory flavor)
- Plum Juice (Juiced Horizon Plum)
When your stew is ready to deliver, you’ll find Adelaide down near the Aquafarmer Huts, just to the left of Kelp n’ More.
Ellie’s Order: Fit for a Princess
Ellie is Adelaide’s younger, adventurous sister and you’ll find her balancing on various things around town – but only during the daytime. Her first location is the Western Plaza, where she’ll request an order Fit For a Princess with the following requirements:
- Dessert
- Avoid Refreshing
- Include Ground
- Avoid Honeyspark
This is pretty demanding but relatively straightforward, since many desserts will need Flour, a ground ingredient. Just avoid any Ulport Plum, as it’s a Refreshing ingredient. We satisfied this request by putting the following into the Oven:
- Moonberries
- Wheat Flour
This is one that you can feel free to experiment with, as there are plenty of fun dessert combinations with fruits and flour but no Honeyspark. It’s a side quest, so you’ll get some Beads but no major plot progression here – still, it’s well worth doing!
Adelaide’s Order: Gaball Cuisine
Since she’s been spending time down by the Gaball Aquafarmer huts, Adelaide wants to sample the local cuisine. You’ll need to meet the following requirements for this order:
- Include Gaball Blend
- Avoid All Common
This one isn’t too tricky and gives you some options to play around, so long as you don’t use any Common ingredients. Buy Gaball Blend from the Aquafarmer hut nearby, then grab some Rare and Exotic ingredients to craft up something for Adelaide. Another stew works well, with some Rare vegetables and Gaball Blend.
Ellie’s Order: You Know the Drill
The next place you’ll find Ellie is down by the harbor, balancing at the edge of a platform. She will request another order here, this time getting a bit more precise:
- Include Golden Bread
- Include Marmalade
- Include Sourfruit Zest
This very specific request, prepared on the Cutting Board, will make a nice marmalade sandwich. But first, you’ll need to figure out a couple of tricky ingredients.
Golden Bread is a crafted recipe made from Gold Flour and Rocksalt. Find Alba during the day and you’ll be able to ask her about making Marmalade from her fruits – it’s a combination of Honeyspark Sugar and any fruit, made in the pot. As for Sourfruit Zest, this is a spice you can buy from May at her shop.
Once you have all the items, combine them at the Cutting Board and you’re good to hand it off to this picky Princess. She’ll wait in the same place for the delivery, but only during the day.
Signe’s Order: No Bread for the Baker
We don’t often get to cook for our favorite baker, Signe, but she does put in one order to get a change of pace from her own wares. When you check in on her at the bakery at a certain point in the story, she will request:
- Avoid Baked Goods
- Avoid Bread
- Include Flower
This relatively simple order for something without baked goods will reward you with the rare and coveted Feathers currency, so it’s worth taking on. I just followed a simple stew recipe over the pot and made sure to throw in a flower for good measure, and voila, a non-baked good for Signe!
Aki’s Order: Traveling Provisions
After Aki asks you to meet him at the Harbor, he will request one final delivery – provisions for the travels ahead. This request requires 3 meals that meet the following criteria:
- Follow Bottled Stew Recipe
- Delicate Flavor
If you’re stumped about the Stew, so was I – but don’t worry, you can buy the recipe from Cassia in her hut. This recipe needs to be cooked over the Pot and results in a Provision. It needs the following components:
- Mushroom
- Spice
- Creamy
- Roasted
Good Delicate options are Roasted Spinach or Roasted Pale Beet (both available from Victor at the produce market).
Getting a Delicate flavor out of this recipe can be tricky, since many spices will overpower Delicate ingredients – opt for something Insipid like Gaball Blend or Coast Poppy.
For the Mushroom, I used Longchute since it satisfies the need for a Creamy ingredient and gave me space to double-up on my roasted Delicate items. This resulted in a Bottled Longchute Stew with a Delicate Flavor. Once you deliver this to Aki at the Harbor, he will travel on and deliver his wares to other merchants around Grat.
Sana’s Order: A Clean Mind
When you gain access to the Garden by giving a good Mist Jump to the higher level, you’ll find Sana near the fountain. To help her focus on her studies of the strange changes she’s observed, Sana requests the following order:
- Soup
- Sour
With just two requirements, this is one of the easier requests to fulfill. Simply use your Pot and throw some Sour ingredients into the mix, preferably with a spice to ensure you wind up with a soup.
I used Amber Algae for this one since it’s a Sour vegetable that you can easily buy from Kelp and More. You could also throw in some Sourfruit Zest (also sour) for good measure.
Vinita’s Order: A Greenhouse Lunch
Once you unlock access to the Royal Elevator, you’ll be able to visit Vinita in the Royal Greenhouse. Not only does she have some flowers for sale – she also has another order for you to complete. This time around, Vinita wants a lunch that meets the following:
- Main Dish
- Include Flower
- Refreshing
- Include Dried
For me, the Oven seems to have the best chance to turn out a Main Dish, so I went with that. For the dried ingredient, I used Royal Petal since it’s a Refreshing flower. You can also throw in some veggies like the Greenfinger, which is Refreshing as well. So long as you add enough refreshing ingredients, this order is fairly straightforward.
Kenn’s Order: Soup for the Warden
Up above the Old Lift, you’ll find a lonely scout from the Ryverfarers, keeping watch. He will request a taste of Tilin Soup – you can find the recipe just to the left of him by interacting with a chest on the ground. His full request is:
- Follow Tilin Soup Recipe
- Salty
The Tilin Soup recipe is cooked in the Pot and requires the following ingredients:
- Mudshell Milk
- Dried Flatworm
- Herb
You’ll need to milk the Mudshell using the Juicer and dry the Flatworm with the Dehydrator. Neither has the required Salty flavor, so you’ll need to ensure that your herb does. Sawtooth Kelp, which you can buy from Kelp and More, is a great option. Since Salty is a stronger flavor than Poisonous or Insipid, you should be okay with one – but there’s space for two, so I threw in a second just to be safe. You could also add Rocksalt or another salty spice as well.
Adelaide’s Order: The Sweetest Sweets
This is Adelaide’s most complicated order yet, which she’ll put in when you meet her by the fountain near the Royal Greenhouse. She has many requests for this one:
- Dessert
- Include Gold Nectar
- Four Star Quality
- Include Dried
- Sweet
The toughest part of this one is tracking down Gold Nectar, which can be purchased from Soledad once you get the Keskar Insignia. Thankfully, it’s a Sweet Relic, which gets you closer to the other two requirements for the order. Make sure to include ingredients with higher rarity in your sweets, which is what boosts the quality.
I combined the Gold Nectar with Gold Flour, Fablespark, and Moonberries to create a 5-star Moonberry Jelly for Adelaide. Don’t forget to add in a dried ingredient as well to meet all the requirements – I learned that the hard way.
Shuya’s Order: Ripped from Nature
When you meet Shuya again in the Garden, she will have another request for you. This time, she wants something unnatural so she can study it. Her request is:
- Soup
- Include Tortured Spine
- Insipid
- Include Juiced
To make this one happen, I included Gaball Blend (Insipid) and milked a Mudshell (also Insipid). These flavors were enough to counteract the Refreshing flavor of the Tortured Spine, which you can buy from Soledad the Collector. This created a rather horrifying-looking Beginners Broth that satisfied Shuya’s request.
Kenn’s Order: A Warden’s Wish
After you bring him a taste of the familiar, Kenn will request something exotic next. Specifically, he wants:
- Sour
- Include Roasted
- Include Exotic
Since he’s not picky about the type of dish, you’ve got some flexibility here. Including Cloudberries will help you tick off both Exotic and Sour, but you’ll still need something roasted as well. I went with Glisterbarb here since it is Sour and can be Roasted. I threw these in the Pot along with a spice to make an exotic stew.
May’s Order: A Lousy Lunch
When you visit the grumpy Spice Merchant, May, she will request a meal to show what you can do. She’s a bit picky and asks for:
- Include Mushroom
- Avoid Spice
- Avoid Floral
- Avoid Roasted
Aside from avoiding so many things, this one isn’t too tricky since she doesn’t request any particular flavor. I threw some mushrooms in the pot along with an herb to create a simple mushroom stew and it worked just fine.
Adelaide’s Order: Sharing is Caring
After you impress her with your sweets, Adelaide will put in one last order – for something that she can share with friends. Specifically, she wants:
- Follow Pizza Recipe
- Avoid Spicy
The Pizza Recipe can be purchased from Avery in any of the locations where he hangs out if you don’t already have it. (I like to find Avery next to Sana’s shop because that’s closest to home base). The recipe requires:
- Goldflour
- Scarlet Tomato
- Ironclove
- Roasted Hornpepper
You can buy all of these items, so it’s pretty easy to get ahold of them. The Goldflour is ground Goldseed, which you can buy from Signe, and Tauno sells both Ironclove and Hornpepper (Aki will have the Hornpepper if you complete this order before sending him off on his travels).
The trick is to be sure to balance out the Spicy flavor from the Hornpepper with the other ingredients. Because this recipe goes in the oven, you’ll have one spare slot. I threw in a Creamy ingredient (Longchute) because that flavor overrides Spicy. This should do the trick since the other ingredient flavors are too weak to overpower Spicy.
Hina’s Order: This Looks Wrong
Hina places another order as thanks for all that dragon-sitting she’s been doing. This time, she provides you with an old family recipe for… cooked sludge? The request is relatively straightforward:
- Follow Cooked Sludge Recipe
To do this, you’ll simply need to pin the recipe and follow the instructions. They are:
- Use Pot
- Mushroom
- Fruit
The result won’t look very appetizing, but Hina will like it, and that’s another order for your roommate filled.
Avery’s Order: Running Around Town
After a while, the recipe salesperson Avery will finally decide to ask for an order. You should be able to pick up this request in any of Avery’s usual locations, including the Central Plaza. They request:
- Include Noodles
- Creamy
To make this dish, you’ll need to first make noodles. This recipe is pretty simple – just combine Wheat Flour and Rocksalt at the cutting board and you’ll be good to go.
As for something Creamy, I like to go with a standby White Longchute for this because I’m partial to them. But you could use any number of creamy ingredients to fill this order since Avery isn’t too picky about flavor or kind of dish. Filling this order will earn you some Beads.
Ellie’s Order: Flying Princess
The next place you’ll find the adventurous young Ellie is up by the Grand Elevator’s highest stop. She will be playing to the left of the elevator, in the opposite direction of where you’d go to visit May’s spice shop. When you find her, she’ll request yet another order:
- Dessert
- Include Flower
- Sour
- 3 Stars
- Include Juiced
For this order, the main challenge will be making sure it’s a 3-star quality. This is the first order where quality comes into play, and it’s tricky. Combine as many Rare and Exotic ingredients as you can for this one, and keep the Flower a milder flavor like the Insipid Faded Crown (also Rare). I got a Moonberry Pie that met Ellie’s needs with this combination:
- Moonberry Juice
- Faded Crown
- Goldflour
- Cloudberries
Star’s Order: Looking Out for Star
While you’ll deliver this order to Star, it’s Asa who places the order when you first chat with her about getting a kettle. She requests that you use it to make some tea for Star, which will need to meet these requirements:
- Tea
- Include Lisryt Tea
This is a relatively straightforward order, especially since Asa will give you the Lisryt Tea when you’re speaking with her. However, if you try to just put the tea directly in the Kettle with water like I did the first time, you’re in for an unpleasant surprise – it will be a Failed Tea.
You need to grind the Listryt Tea first to create a tea power, then brew it with water to make tea. Other than that, there’s no flavor request here, so you can add in any spices you like or just deliver good old plain tea to Star at her forge.
Vinita’s Order: Greenhouse Tea
When you deliver her lunch, Vinita decides she would like some tea with it. While she won’t be able to enjoy it with her lunch, she still asks you to bring her some tea. She wants:
- Tea
- Avoid Flower
- Avoid Bitter
- Avoid Dried
You’ll just need to make a simple tea to fill this order. Lisryt Tea is a Delicate flavor and an Herb, not a Flower, so it will do just fine for this one. You can grind it up and make another simple Lisryt Tea and even add some flavor, so long as it’s not from a Flower or a Bitter ingredient.
Tola’s Order: Caring for Goats
You will finally meet the mysterious Tola between the Old Lift and Asa’s teahouse. He will request something for the nearby goats in exchange for knowledge about navigation – necessary info to progress the story. The goats would like:
- Include Crop
- Delicate
- Include Dried
- Avoid Soup
- Avoid All Exotic
This is a good mix of requirements that can be hard to keep track of as you prepare a dish. I made sure to use the Oven, a foolproof way to avoid Soup. Here’s what I combined to get a Snack Mix for the goats:
- Goldflour (the Crop)
- Dried Thornberry (the Dried ingredient)
- Spinach x2
- Pale Beet
Using 3 Delicate flavored ingredients helped to ensure my Snack Mix came out with a Delicate flavor as requested, and Tola’s goats were perfectly happy with it.
Hina’s Order: Hina’s Personal Chef
Hina is once again hungry and requests another dish from her roomie. This time around, she would like:
- Avoid Potion
- Foul
- Use only Common
This is an unappetizing but relatively straightforward request. Don’t use your Cauldron and make sure to use only Common ingredients and you’re well on your way. Foul is the strongest flavor on the chart and can only be overpowered by Poisonous ingredients, so steer clear of those and you should be good.
Groundsprouts and Marine Drupe are both good, Common quality ingredients with a Foul flavor, as is Wildvine.
Tola’s Order: Tea with Tola
After you drop off some food for the goats, Tola will request that you bring tea. Only while sharing tea with you will he divulge what he knows about navigating by the stars. The tea order is:
- Cook under Moonlight
- Tea
- Sour
You’ll need to make two cups of this tea, one for you and one for Tola. For this recipe, I used Lisryt Tea to make Tea Powder and threw in Sourfruit Zest to ensure a Sour flavor. Don’t forget to wait until Moonlight to brew the tea!
Colo’s Order: Overlooking the Island
When you first visit the Old Ramparts, to the left of where you find Tola, you will see the adventurous Colo. They are looking out over the island and would love something delicious to enjoy while they do so. Fulfilling this quest is a key part of progressing the story, so you’ll want to be sure to fill it. Colo’s request is:
- Soup
- Use Only Common
- Include Enchanted
Overall this is a pretty straightforward order, but you’ll need to learn how to create Enchanted ingredients to fill it. Enchanting ingredients require the Altar, which you can buy from Soledad after getting the Keskar Insignia from Tauno.
To Enchant them, you’ll need two of the same ingredients. Many Flowers can be enchanted, so you’ll need to look for a Common Flower with a checkmark by the Enchanted option. Place two such flowers into the Altar under moonlight, and you should get the ingredients you need for your soup. I used Emperor’s Bloom for this one. Throw the Enchanted Bloom into the Pot alongside a Common Spice, and you should get a nice broth that will fill Colo’s request.
Sana’s Order: Engrossed in Work
Sana’s work in the Gardens continues, and she requests yet another meal to keep her nourished. This time, Sana requests:
- Baked Goods
- Include Spice
- Avoid Flower
- Include Ground
- Use Only Rare
This is another tricky order due to just how many requirements there are, but it’s not as tough as it initially seems. Baked goods inherently require flour of some kind, so grind Goldseed into Goldflour for a Rare, Ground ingredient. Next add in a Rare Spice, such as Ironclove or Ulport Stock. If you put these in the Oven with a Rare Herb like Timbermoss, you should wind up with a flavored Flatbread that will fit the order requirements for Sana. Just don’t use any Flowers.
Note: We got some player feedback that adding the herb can sometimes result in a different recipe, depending on the combination of ingredients. If adding a Rare Herb like we suggest above is giving you trouble, try leaving it out. As long as you’ve got a Rare flour and Rare Spice, you should wind up with a dish that works!
Avery’s Order: Magical Stuff
When you speak to Avery in one of their many merchant locations, they will request to see something magical so they can compare you with other witches. This order requires:
- Include Flower
- Include Spice
- Avoid Provision
- Avoid Tea
- Avoid Potion
Since you’re mainly just avoiding certain types of recipes here, this isn’t a particularly tough order. Don’t use the Kettle or your Cauldron and that’s two boxes checked off. You could throw a flower, spice, and some vegetables in the Pot to make a Stew or try for a delicious flavored flatbread by throwing some flour, spice, and flowers into the Oven.
Alba’s Order: Princess Tea Party
During one of your visits to buy fruit from Alba, the Gaball princess, she will invite you to a tea party. Of course, you’ll be providing the tea for Alba and yourself. She asks you to bring:
- Follow Gaball Tea Recipe
- Bitter
You’ll need to make Gaball Tea twice to bring enough for you and Princess Alba. The recipe requires the Kettle and Mintpowder, which you can get by grinding up Aquamint purchased from Kelp and More. This is a Refreshing ingredient, so you’ll need to add something Bitter to fit Alba’s request. I added Pine Needles from May’s Spice Bazaar. Brew this up twice, and you should be able to fill this order.
Asa’s Order: A Tea Party
Visit Asa’s teahouse again after filling her order for Star, and she’ll have another request for you. Asa would love to enjoy a cup of tea with you, but she’d like you to make Rice Cakes to go along with it. This order requires:
- Follow Rice Cake Recipe
- Delicate
Asa should provide the Rice Cake recipe when she makes the order, so you’ll simply need to pin it and follow along. This recipe requires:
- Rice Flour
- Fruit
- Oven
You can get Rice Flower by grinding Amas Rice with the Mortar & Pestle. To get the Delicate flavor you’re looking for, you will need to include many Delicate ingredients since Amas Rice has a strong Floral flavor. I used Ulport Plum as my fruit, due to its relatively weak Refreshing flavor. Then, add in Delicate ingredients to fill out the recipe, such as Shadowblade.
Because Delicate is a weak flavor, you will need a few to make it happen – I used Spinach, Pale Beet, and Shadowblade together with the Rice Flour and Ulport Plum to get the right mix.
Curi’s Order: Helping the Fae
Just past Asa’s teahouse, near where you find the Willow Tree to make your broom, you’ll find a fae. They are hiding in the corner just through a shadowy space and will ask for your help. They need:
- Include Jade Moss
- Avoid Bitter
- 4 Stars
Jade Moss and avoiding Bitter ingredients are both easy enough, but getting a 4-star quality took some experimenting. I eventually went with throwing in some Starpowder, a Relic you receive from Tola after completing his request for tea. That, alongside a Jade Moss, Iron Clove, and Pale beat resulted in a Pale Broth of high enough quality to satisfy the Fae.
Colo’s Order: A Visit from Colo
A few days after Colo shows up in front of your shop, you’ll be able to get an order request from her. First, you will need to fill Laurent’s order for backup potions to get to this point. Once you do, Colo will ask for a beloved recipe:
- Follow Fabled Kisses Recipe
- Avoid Sour
The Fabled Kisses recipe can be purchased at the Bakery if you haven’t bought it yet. This recipe uses the Oven and requires:
- Honeyspark Sugar
- Fablespark
- Hazel
- Fruit
This is straightforward as long as you avoid using a Sour fruit. I threw in Canyongrape to create a Sweet Fabled Kisses dessert.
Alba’s Order: Delicious Fruit
When you speak to the Gaball Princess Alba, she will eventually express frustration at being forced to sell fruits all day. In order to cheer her up and prove that fruit is worthwhile, you’ll need to make a tasty treat including fruit. This order requires:
- Include Sourfruit Zest
- Include Fruit
- 4 Star Quality
- Include Juiced
This one took a little experimenting to get the quality right, but I landed upon an Apple Jelly recipe that hit the spot. In the Oven, I combined:
- Cider (juiced Green Apple)
- Sourfruit Zest
- Cloudberries (x2 to ensure high quality)
Alba was pleased with the results, and that’s another order filled!
Arlette’s Order: Potions for Arlette
After you meet her in the Church of the River and refuse to hand over Heji, Arlette will ask to test your witchy skills with an order for potions. She requests:
- Potion
- Include Wildvine
- Avoid Poisonous
- Avoid cooking under moonlight
- Avoid Enchanted
As most Potions are cooked under Moonlight, this initially seems like an odd request. However, there are a few potions that work just fine in the daytime. I made a Wanderer’s Blend by combining these ingredients in the Cauldron:
- Pickled Petals
- Thornberry
- Wildvine
- Glisterbarb
Cassia’s Order: Another Chance
Visit Cassia again after your unfortunate meeting at the Church of the River, and she’ll ask for another chance to sample your wares. She orders:
- Avoid Main Dish
- Avoid Potion
- Avoid Fruit
- Floral
Since this is mostly just avoiding certain components, it’s not too challenging to fulfill. I opted for keeping it simple and making a broth using the Pot with few ingredients:
- Jade Moss
- Ironclove
This gave me a Beginners Broth with the required Floral flavor profile, which I delivered to Cassia at her hut.
Shuya’s Order: Restoring Balance
When Shuya hears of your plans for Heji, she will request that you craft a special concoction to help. This request requires:
- Follow Dragonvial Recipe
Shuya should provide this recipe, which you can pin to your sidebar for easy access. The recipe is a combination of ingredients with “dragon” in the name:
- Dried Dragonlily
- Dragoncherry Juice
- Dragonsage Powder
- Roasted Dragonshield
As you can see, each ingredient needs to be prepared a certain way before being used, making it a little bit time-consuming. Once they’ve been prepped, you will need to combine these items in the Cauldron under Moonlight to create your Dragonvial. Return to Shuya, still in the Gardens near the fountain, to deliver your wares.
Hina’s Order: Iron Stomach
Ever up to a challenge, Hina will request that you make her something truly difficult to eat to prove her iron stomach. She asks for:
- Include Nightshade
- Avoid Main Dish
- Poisonous
- Include Enchanted
The main challenge with this one is getting to the part of the map that has Nightshade, a rare ingredient that takes several days to regrow. I suggest saving the first Nightshade you harvest to tick off this order. Here’s what I made for Hina:
- Nightshade
- Coast Poppy
- Charmed Angelfeet
- Crescentshell
Throwing these items into the Pot resulted in a Poisonous Boiled Mushroom stew that certainly put Hina to the test.
Laurent’s Order: Proper Restock
After you hand over the backup potions, Laurent asks you to meet him at the Ryverfarer offices one last time. When you do, he wants a proper restock of supplies for the journey. This request is for:
- Include Rare
- Provision
- Include Roasted
- Avoid Vegetable
You will need to make three dishes that meet these requirements to fill Laurent’s order, which is a key part of progressing the main story. I followed the Provision Pack recipe for this order to ensure it turned out as the right type of dish. I used:
- Shadowblade
- Roasted Faecap
- Rocksalt
- Honeyspark
Deliver three of these to Laurent and you’ll be able to earn your reward – and some story progression as well.
Silas’ Order: A Dragon Lure
Silas is at the far left end of the Ryverfarer office and is one of the people Tauno suggests you talk to about dragons. He vaguely recalls the recipe for a Dragon Lure, but not the specifics. He asks you to bring him a sample to confirm, using the following:
- Follow Dragonlure Recipe
- Include Roasted Ancient Cap
- Foul
- Include Fruit
- Include Graypit Milk
Of course, because he doesn’t remember the recipe, you don’t have an actual recipe to follow. This makes it a bit tricky to figure out just how to combine the required ingredients to get the right result. After much trial and error, here is how I made the Dragonlure. Use the Cauldron (I cooked it under Moonlight to be safe). Add the following ingredients:
- A Fruit (We used Cloudberries)
- Roasted Ancient Cap
- Graypit Milk
- A Foul Ingredient (we used Wildvine)
This should create the Dragonlure, which you can bring to Silas to confirm. He’ll give you another Ancient Cap which you can save to make the recipe again when the time comes.
Arlette’s Order: Pain Relief Tea
After you deliver the potions, Arlette will joke about how you should enjoy your youth while you can. She’s in her thirties and in pain. You offer to try and make tea that can soothe pain, using the following:
- Tea
- Bitter
- 3 Star Quality
- Include Enchanted
Since tea can only combine two ingredients in the Kettle, getting all these requirements met can be difficult. I combined:
- Pine Needles
- Charmed Angelfeet
This managed to do the trick for Arlette, even if the pain relief was only temporary.
Hina’s Order: For Me?
After making so many requests for herself, Hina now demands that you take care of you for a change. She wants you to make something for yourself, but bring it to her so she can watch and make sure you actually eat it. She asks you to make:
- Dessert
- Include Ulport Plum
- Avoid Earthy
This is pretty simple since you just need to avoid Earthy ingredients and use an Ulport plum, but the world is otherwise your oyster. I made a Plum Pie using the following:
- Honeyspark Sugar
- Goldflour
- Ulport Raisin
When you complete the order, you’ll receive the Ander color palette for your outfit as a reward. Flora will also get to enjoy a tasty meal, for a change.
Ellie’s Order: A Proper Meal
Ellie’s final order will be placed when you meet her up by the Palace Greenhouse, balancing near the fountain. Here, she will say her mother wants her to eat a real, proper meal for once. She requests:
- Main Dish
- Sweet
- Use Only Exotic
This request isn’t too tricky, so long as you make sure to use only Exotic ingredients and throw in enough Sweet ingredients to get the right flavor.
Scarlet Tomato is a great option for an Exotic, Sweet ingredient that isn’t likely to push you into dessert territory. Throw this in the Pan or Oven with some other Exotic veggies, and you should be good to go for the Princess’ last order. Here’s what I used:
- Pearlpeas
- Shadowblade
- Scarlet Tomato
- Vigorbark
This resulted in a Steamed Vegetable main dish with a Sweet flavor profile, perfect to fit the queen’s request for a healthy meal and Ellie’s desire for sweets.
Colo’s Order: Snacks for the Journey
After Colo heads back to Ryverfarer headquarters, you’ll need to bring her some snacks for the upcoming river journey. Colo requests:
- Follow Smoked Mushroom Pack Recipe
- Include White Longchute
- Include Dried
The Smoked Mushroom Pack Recipe is easy enough to come by if you don’t have it already since Colo herself sells this item. Since she doesn’t have any flavor requests, you’ll just need to follow the recipe and be sure to include something Dried and a White Longchute. Here is the recipe you’ll need to satisfy:
- Mushroom
- Nut
- Crop
- Savory
- Ground
These items will go into the oven. Here’s what I made to fill Colo’s request:
- White Longchute
- Limenut Flour (Nut + Ground)
- Goldseed (Crop)
- Dried Thistle (Dried)
- Faecap (Savory)
Bring this Colo at the Ryverfarer headquarters, and you’re one step closer to the big journey.
Jospya’s Order: Bookworm Meals
I don’t know about you, but the library was one of the last places I found in Magical Delicacy. Once you arrive, the librarian will cheerfully request some food for a bookworm. Jospya would like:
- Main Dish
- Salty
- Include Dried
For this, I made a very simple Timber Stir Fry by combining:
- Rocksalt
- Dried Timbershade
This was a quick and easy way to satisfy this side quest order and keep moving along.
Sana’s Order: Research Night
When you return to deliver Jospya’s order, you’ll find a familiar face browsing the stacks. Sana has come to do some research, and she’d like something to eat to help. Her request is:
- Follow Moon Burger Recipe
This recipe is one you’ll find in a treasure box in Cassia’s Hut, and likely already have on hand by the time you hit this order. If not, it’s to the right side of the hut in the box there. The recipe is made in the Pan and requires:
- Golden Bread
- Roasted Crescentshell
- Roasted Garlic
- Spinach
This recipe is pretty specific, so as long as you have the recipe, it’s basically just following along to prepare it. Then, bring it to Sana still in the library to reap your rewards.
Laurent’s Order: Provisions for a Witch
After you ask to tag along on Laurent’s river expedition, he has one main request – bring your own supplies. Naturally, this means crafting up more provisions. This is pretty straightforward, as the only requirement is:
- Provision
You can head to the Provisions tab of your recipe book and make whichever Provision recipes you fancy. You’ll need to make five of them to last you for the journey ahead and bring them to Laurent. Have fun here! We’re getting toward the end of the main story, so make that Provision recipe you’ve never tried! Mix and match them to get five total.
Silas’ Order: Worthy Provisions
After you figure out the Dragonlure recipe for Silas, he will have another request. This time, he wants to see your skills at making provisions fit for a Ryverfarer. Silas wants:
- Provision
- Include Timbermoss
- Avoid Creamy
- Avoid Sweet
- Four Star Quality
To manage this, you want to follow a Provision recipe and include high-rarity ingredients as best you can. I made a Smoked Timber Pack using the following:
- Goldflour
- Snailnut
- Timbermoss
- Timbershade
- White Pepper
This should be enough to prove your worth to Silas as a cooking witch and earn you a nice reward in the form of Beads.
Tauno’s Order: Clearing the Way
As you prepare to leave for your river journey, Laurent and Colo ask you to meet them at the docks. If you try to go that way, you’ll find the mysterious Kajogat blocking your path. When you leave, Tauno is waiting and they have a plan – create some delicious food Kajogat can’t resist to lure them away.
For this request, you’ll need the Riverfish Kajogat dropped a while ago. If you already used it, don’t worry – Tauno’s dialogue will unlock the option to buy more from Soledad if needed. To complete this quest you’ll need to make:
- Riverfish
- Earthy
I crafted Fried Mushroom Balls by combining Timbershade, Riverfish , and Goldseed in the Pan. Bring them to Tauno in their hut, and they will take care of luring the obstacle out of your way.
Tauno’s Order: Brighten the Shadows
After you collaborate with Tauno to clear the way, they will become curious about your food magic. You decide to make them something to show what your food can do. For this order, you’ll need:
- Main Dish
- Include White Pepper
- Avoid Salty
- Include Roasted
For this order, I prepared a Longchute Stir Fry by combining the following in the Pan:
- Roasted Garlic
- White Longchute
- White Pepper
This order filled Tauno’s needs – and resulted in another order, this time for the very tricky Umbral Tea recipe.
Tauno’s Order: A Keskar Ritual
Tauno’s final request, to create the Umbral Tea used in their Keskar Ritual, is the one thing I didn’t finish before completing the story. That’s because one of the ingredients, Voidmilk, is tricky to figure out. It’s a crafted item, and the recipe is hidden in a secret area of Tauno’s Hut. Tauno’s official request is:
- Follow Umbral Tea Recipe
- Earthy
The recipe for Umbral Tea is one that Tauno sells, so that’s easy enough to get. It is made in the Kettle, and you’ll need:
- Voidmilk
- Spice
- Enchanted
First, craft up your Voidmilk by following that sneaky hidden recipe. Voidmilk is crafted in the Cauldron and requires the following ingredients:
- Snailnut Milk
- Pine Needles
- Ironclove
Once you have the voidmilk. you’ll need to combine it with something Enchanted – and that something will need to also be a Savory Spice, since tea can only have two ingredients. I used Enchanted Vigorbark to fill this requirement, making my Umbral Tea with the following:
- Voidmilk
- Enchanted Vigorbark
This took care of the request and wrapped up the story with Tauno and their Keskar ways.
Heji’s Order: Lure to the Docks
When you’re ready to head out on your journey, you’ll need to lure Heji to the docks. That means it’s time to recreate the Dragonlure and use it for real this time. Since you already did the hard work of figuring out the recipe for Silas, it’s not too tricky to fill this order for Heji. You need:
- Follow Dragonlure Recipe
As noted above, the Dragonlure Recipe requires:
- A Fruit
- Roasted Ancient Cap
- Graypit Milk
- A Foul Ingredient
Combine these in the Cauldron and bring them to Heji in your shop when you’re ready to take the cute little dragon home. He will then head to the docks, which are just to the left of the Ryverfarer headquarters. This is the final major quest order, though you may have other minor side quests that you can wrap up after the credits roll.
